Have you ever felt separated from God in this world of distractions? Through the rush of work, the noise of technology, and the stress of just living– do you struggle to commit to Him? The truth is, we all struggle. We all try to follow Him, whether it’s by reading a verse a day, or saying a quick prayer before rolling out of bed. 

But what about full, complete, all-consuming commitment to God?

God asks that commitment of us, and asks us to act as His representatives in this world. That is what this blog is for. We are Christians who are striving for that commitment, and we want to share that journey with you. This blog is where we share our thoughts and writings on the life of a Christian- the life of complete commitment to the Lord. We hope this will be a blessing and a companion as we try to lay ourselves down everyday, and surrender to Christ. 

Our Mission/Our Blog

Teens reaching teens for Christ. It is a nice catchphrase, but it is also so much more than that. It is the purpose of this blog, our mission as we continue to grow in our own walks with the Lord. Through this blog, you can meet people who are walking the same walk as you, fighting the same fight. We are banding together to help you get through the insanity of the world–and not just help get you through it. We want to get you closer to God than you ever have been before. We want to help you be a light to the world, another Christ to introduce God to the people who don’t know Him. Because that is what we are called to do–be Christ to others, bringing His light everywhere we go. 

So how do we become Him? Well, very simply: we commit. We commit our lives, our worlds, our desires, our fears, our actions, our dreams. We give Him everything, and He gives us so much more. And even though we may not know where we’ll end up or what He’ll do with us, we know it will be incredible. Are you ready for that journey? Because we are, and we can’t wait to get started. 

Our Team

So who should you expect to meet during your time with us? Well, first up is myself (Leigh Burniston, co-founder, writer, and editor), and my best friend, Grace Maren (co-founder, writer, editor). Also our incredible team of writers: Elliyah Davis, Jessica Sprecher, Renee Waller, Kamryn Rackley, and Fallon White (editor). They are wonderful, and you can learn more about them on our ‘About‘ page. We take turns posting an article or Cup of Tea post every Saturday, each with a topic of our choice, and all centered around the same thing: becoming more and more like Christ in all that we think, say, and do. 

Truly Committed

True commitment to God will allow you to show Christ to others in thousands of incredible ways. It’s also extremely difficult–especially in a world where almost everything is trying to snatch your attention, doing everything it can to pull you away from God. Commitment is shown in your everyday practices; it is shown in all the small actions you take. In our posts we will talk about these things, whether they be studying your Bible, loving your family, worshiping God, or dealing with pain and hardship. And while none of us can be perfect, we hope these articles at least help keep you on the straight and narrow road, lighting up any areas of darkness in your life. 

God is calling you into a life full of joy and beauty, but also struggle and pain. We hope to come beside you as we live out our commitment to Christ. That is our prayer for this blog. Psalm 37:5 says, ‘Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.’
