Today, we remember those whose lives were lost on September 11th, 2001.
Today, we mourn the loss of Charlie Kirk, the political right-wing activist and executive director of Turning Point USA. More importantly, he was a young Christian father and husband, and his family will deeply miss him.
Today, we pray for the families affected in the Minnesota school shooting.
Today, we pray for the family affected in the Charlotte train attack.
Today, we read the headlines with updates on the wars between Russia & Ukraine and Israel & Hamas, and pray for those countries.
I think that people are beginning to wonder:
“Where is God? Does he see? Does he care?”
The answer is a resounding “Yes!”
“Don’t mistake God’s silence for God’s absence.”
There are many times in scripture where God is silent. This was usually because His people had forsaken Him, and were worshiping the things of this world, and pursuing their wants and desires over a relationship with Him.
But God is never absent.
It is we who are absent from Him.
The book of Judges is known for its repetitive stories of how the Israelites walk away from the Lord, and how He sends them a judge to deliver them from their enemies.
God was waiting to send His final judge: Jesus Christ, His Son—our Savior.
He is waiting even now to call home His followers, and to rightly judge all those living in rebellion against Him.
One thing that people seem to forget when a big headline hits, like on the tenth, is that bad things have always happened. A guy I know stated, “Bad things always happen; they always will continue to happen until our Lord comes back.”
Jesus promises that there will be trials and tribulations in this life. But He tells us to have peace, because He has already overcome the world.
America needs Jesus.
America needs love.
9/11/2001 proved it.
9/10/2025 proved it.
And nothing is going to change the fact that they will continue to need this and not receive Him.
That is, unless we rise up and pursue the commission that Jesus gave us. He told us to go into all nations, proclaiming the gospel. And yet we’re too afraid to walk across the street. To talk to our own family members who are lost.
Christians, what are we doing?
We’re too content living our everyday lives and just living with the assurance Jesus brings us.
But we’re too selfish to share it.
Maybe not selfish… but scared?
Scared of what?
Read Psalm 118:6! “The Lord is on my side, I shall not fear. What can man do unto me?”
Do we really believe God is all-powerful?
How about we start acting like it?
Father God, I pray for this country. I pray for this world. Father, I pray that You will spark an awakening. That You will raise up Christian leaders to speak out against the evil, hatred, and sin. Father, I pray You will protect them.
Lord, I pray peace over those who are suffering—peace over those hurting.
Abba, You are our Good Shepherd. I pray You would lead Your sheep to green pastures. Lord, I pray for those whom You have appointed to shepherd Your flock: the pastors, deacons, and even the political leaders. Lord, I pray You will give them wisdom.
Father, I pray that You would embolden the believers to spread Your truth in a world that is so desperately seeking truth.
Father, we know You’re working even now, and I pray You will give this world peace.
All this I pray in Your holy name, AMEN.
