There is power in the Name of Jesus – Cup of Tea.

The world we live in is incredible. The technology we have is fantastic, and so often we take it for granted. Sure, a lot of it is used for terrible and selfish reasons, but the modern technology we have has great potential to be used for good. YouTube is one of those platforms.

I will admit, there are times I sit and waste my time watching short after short. Some edifying, others not as much. But recently I came across this clip, and had also recently showed up on my Instagram feed, and it shows an artist, who I don’t know, giving glory to God at the Grammy’s. And what I found fascinating about this clip is how this artist started his little speech. He starts it off by saying “I know they’re going to try and kick me off here.” After that he goes on to say how God changed his life in a prison cell and made him realize God has the power to do anything.  Y’all there is power in the name of Christ, and this world knows it. The demons know it. James 2:19 says “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” (KJV) Satan knows that the Name of Jesus will one day cause his kingdom of sin and evil to fall. He knows that his time is short. So he is trying every trick up his sleeve to defame the name of God on this earth. The Quarterback for the Huston Texans of the NFL CJ Stroud praised the name of Jesus before beginning a press-conference after the Texans defeated the Cleveland Browns 45-14. NBC cut that portion of his interview when they posted it on social media.  I don’t think CJ Stroud could have said any other name that would have gotten cut from his interview. But there is something about that name: Jesus. Scripture tells us it is the “name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:10 KJV) and that “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11 KJV)  No other name holds such power. So I challenge those of us who believe in the Power of Jesus: Do we rest in that power? Do we acknowledge that power in our lives? Do we claim the Name of Jesus? Or is “Jesus” just another thing in your life?  Just another thing to add to your list.  I feel like so many people put Jesus in this little box in their lives and keep him there. They can access Him when they need, but otherwise he isn’t prevalent in their lives. Dear reader, we were made intentionally. Genesis tells us “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis 1:27 KJV)  Mankind was created to live in constant fellowship with God, and God still desires that fellowship. So, Christians, claim the name of Jesus in your lives. Let Jesus take over in your life and let Him be the King of your heart.  Oh if only every Christian would claim and proclaim the name of Jesus and shake the kingdom of this world to its core. Let us be constantly reminding the devils of who is their ruler. Who is king over all! The one who is coming back again to bring judgement upon the ungodly. The powerful and everlasting name of Jesus Christ! The one who was, and is, and is to come!  Praise Him today!
